“Towards artisanal fisheries and Mediterranean sea conservation.”

The project will involve fishermen and marine stewardship bodies to suggest management guidelines and potential protected marine areas based on sound scientific evidences. Furthermore it will develop an integrated GIS database with the compiled information with a specific cartography of each area integrating the existing data from previous projects and the information obtained from the results of ECOSAFIMED.

“Improving communities’ sustainable energy policy tools.”

• Expected results: STEP partners will develop a set of 8 policy good practices that will provide the basis for 3 thematic guides on social management. These guides will include recommendations on: 1) Better implementation of sustainable energy policies at local level; 2) Developing a sustainable energy management; 3) Financing tools to encourage investment in sustainable energy.
The guidelines for implementing policies provide the basis for the implementation of 8 regional plans, which will ensure local and regional transfer of the policy tools and the durability of the project results. The main result of STEP will be the improved knowledge of local sustainable energy policies, the strengthening of cooperation between regional and local policy actors and at least 3 successful transfers of good policy practices.
